Description:

A striking native New Zealand species. This female features the classic light banding across a plump, rounded abdomen, giving her a robust and impressive look. Like all tunnelweb spiders, she is shy and reclusive by nature, preferring to retreat into a silken funnel web rather than confront disturbances. An excellent display species for keepers interested in native inverts. Requires a humid microclimate with cork bark or moss to anchor her web.
