A quick introduction:

The New Zealand Silver Orb Spider is a truly beautiful species. It carries a distinctive silvery, shiny body on its back, and has striking green legs — a stunning combination that makes it one of the most eye-catching web-building spiders around.

Size: Approx. 1.5–2 cm including legs.

This is the easiest and most visually rewarding web-building spider I have ever kept. First of all, it only builds a small web of around 8–10 cm, unlike other orb weavers that spin much larger webs. This means you can keep it in a reasonably sized enclosure and still see the whole web clearly.

Care is very simple:

Feed 2–3 live fruit flies per week. Mist the web very lightly once a week with a spray bottle. That's it — nothing more. You can observe everything it does with just this basic routine.
